Used Truck Purchasing Manager

RWC Group•Huntington Park, CA

About The Position

RWC Group is looking for an experienced Used Truck Purchasing Manager who knows the commercial truck market and has the relationships, judgment, and sales ability to turn used equipment into profitable opportunities. This is not a traditional purchasing position. You’ll be responsible for sourcing and purchasing used trucks and equipment, wholesaling inventory, and directly selling used equipment to retail customers. If you know how to spot a good truck, understand what it’s worth, negotiate a great deal, and find the right buyer, this is an opportunity to make a significant impact on RWC’s used truck business. Every used truck starts with the right buying decision. This role directly impacts inventory turn, gross profit, and sales by putting the right equipment into RWC’s inventory at the right cost—and getting it into the hands of the right customer. At RWC Group, you’ll have the opportunity to build relationships, make deals, and directly influence the profitability of our used truck operation. You won’t simply manage inventory that someone else buys. You’ll help determine what we buy, what we pay, how we position it, and how we sell it.

Requirements

  • Understand commercial truck values, specifications, market conditions, and resale potential.
  • Demonstrated experience buying, selling, appraising, or wholesaling used equipment.
  • Exceptional negotiator who knows how to structure a profitable deal.
  • Strong industry relationships—or know how to build them quickly.
  • Comfortable prospecting and developing new sources for both inventory and customers.
  • Understand inventory aging and the importance of turning equipment.
  • Self-directed, competitive, and motivated by results.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, fleets, dealers, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Develop and maintain a strong network of fleets, dealers, wholesalers, auction contacts, and other industry partners.
