About The Position

Productivity, Inc.'s MachinesUsed.com Division is seeking a Used Machinery Sales & Purchasing Specialist to join their team. This role involves helping manufacturing customers throughout the Western United States buy, sell, and evaluate CNC machines, fabrication equipment, tooling, and industrial assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machine tools, enjoy building customer relationships, and be capable of inspecting equipment, determining value, negotiating transactions, and managing projects to completion. You will work directly with manufacturers, machine shops, and industrial businesses to identify opportunities and provide solutions for surplus and used equipment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience selling, purchasing, evaluating, or managing CNC machine tools, industrial machinery, or capital equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machines, fabrication equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven ability to evaluate equipment condition, determine market value, negotiate pricing, and close transactions.
  • Experience working directly with manufacturing customers and industrial businesses.
  • Understanding of rigging, equipment transportation, logistics, or machinery relocation processes.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and consultative sales skills.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable managing a territory with significant autonomy.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned region and work in both field and office environments.

  • Auction or liquidation experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase used CNC machines, fabrication equipment, tooling, and industrial assets throughout assigned territories.
  • Sell and broker used CNC machinery and industrial equipment through MachinesUsed.com's established marketing and sales channels.
  • Conduct on-site equipment inspections, evaluate condition, document specifications, and assess market value.
  • Negotiate equipment purchases, consignments, and sales transactions with customers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with machine shops, manufacturers, fabricators, and industrial businesses.
  • Identify opportunities for customers looking to buy, sell, trade, or liquidate surplus equipment.
  • Coordinate rigging, logistics, transportation, and shipping activities associated with equipment transactions.
  • Manage projects from initial evaluation through final delivery and transaction completion.
  • Partner with Productivity's machine tool sales team to identify trade-in and surplus equipment opportunities.
  • Utilize CRM, inventory management, marketing, and sales software to manage pipelines and customer activity.
  • Support equipment auctions and liquidation projects as needed.
