Used Car Service Technician
About The Position
We are looking for an experienced Used Car Service Technician to join our growing team! The right candidate will have a strong automotive repair background, solid diagnostic skills, and experience working on a wide variety of makes and models. ASE certifications are preferred, and manufacturer certifications are a plus. The day-to-day duties include diagnosing vehicle concerns, performing repairs, and preparing pre-owned inventory to meet our quality and safety standards. Requirements
- 2+ years of automotive technician experience preferred
- Experience working on multiple makes and models is strongly preferred
- Strong diagnostic, electrical, and mechanical repair skills
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Nice To Haves
- ASE Certifications preferred
- Manufacturer certifications are a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of automotive systems, including engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brakes, electrical, heating and air conditioning systems
- Inspect and recondition used vehicle inventory for retail sale
- Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and service equipment
- Perform multi-point inspections and identify needed repairs or maintenance
- Communicate directly with Service Advisors and management regarding vehicle status and additional repair recommendations
- Complete repairs according to manufacturer and dealership standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Stay up to date on new vehicle technology and repair procedures across multiple brands
