Kendall Ford of Bozeman is seeking an experienced and motivated Used Car Sales Manager to lead their pre-owned operations. This is a leadership role responsible for driving results, developing a sales team, and managing a profitable used vehicle inventory. The position requires a proven track record in automotive sales leadership, inventory management, team development, and profitability in a fast-paced dealership environment. Requirements

  • Previous automotive sales management experience required
  • Proven leadership ability and track record of success
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Strong understanding of used vehicle inventory management and market trends
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and professionalism
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
  • Candidates must be willing to work weekend and evening shifts
  • Capacity to operate a wide variety of vehicles including cars, trucks, and vans, including hybrid models

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, motivate, and develop the entire sales team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Work directly with sales staff to improve performance, closing ratios, and customer satisfaction
  • Assist in structuring and closing deals while supporting daily sales operations
  • Manage used vehicle inventory, including acquisition strategy, appraisals, pricing, aging, and merchandising
  • Source and purchase vehicles through trades, auctions, and other inventory channels
  • Monitor market trends and vehicle values to maintain a competitive and profitable inventory mix
  • Ensure inventory is properly stocked, photographed, merchandised, and market-ready
  • Conduct inventory reviews and work closely with leadership to maintain healthy turn rates and profitability
  • Lead sales meetings, training, and ongoing coaching to develop team performance and accountability
  • Support finance and deal structuring processes as needed
  • Maintain compliance with dealership policies, processes, and industry regulations
  • Drive department growth while meeting profitability and performance goals
