The primary role of the Used Car Sales Manager is to operationally manage and drive the success of the used car department through developing sales consultants, working with third party vendors and achieving monthly sales quotas. This role involves working directly with employees and customers to develop relationships, build rapport for referrals, and bridge disconnects in the sales process. The manager will provide training and support to the sales staff, assist in closing sales, and manage all aspects of the sales department and inventory lot. Responsibilities include purchasing vehicles from auction and off-lease returns, working with lot attendants to ensure proper vehicle tagging and positioning, conducting trade appraisals, and managing vehicle information in the management system. The role also requires managing inventory turn policy, partnering with wholesale vendors, and coordinating with the service department for vehicle preparation. Additionally, the Used Car Sales Manager will prepare annual forecasts and budgets, administer factory programs, and assist the New Car Sales Manager when needed.
