About The Position

The Used Car Buyer will have a primary responsibility of executing a process which involves prospecting, appraising, and presenting offers to current vehicle owners with the goal of purchasing their vehicles from multiple sources for resale. The Used Car Buyer position has a pay scale consisting of base hourly compensation, potential commission compensation based on sales performance, and a potential production bonus based on individual or team performance.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA.
  • Must be willing to undergo pre-employment compliance requirements: Drug testing, background check, MVR.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous luxury dealership experience a plus!
  • Demonstrated success in telemarketing, appointment setting, or sales roles, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Strong ability to engage with customers effectively, build rapport, and address their needs and concerns professionally.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with a persuasive and articulate demeanor over the phone.
  • Ability to handle rejection positively and persistently pursue leads, maintaining a positive attitude throughout.
  • Comfortable using CRM software, productivity tools, and other technology platforms to manage leads and track progress.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for calling, following up and scheduling appointments for customers to come in and appraise and purchase their used vehicles.
  • Utilize CRM for prospecting and lead generation.
  • Interface with current used vehicle owners from appointments set and dealership service drive with the purpose of purchasing their vehicle.
  • Approach, greet, and engage with dealership customers to appraise and offer to purchase their current vehicles.
  • Appraise used vehicles by asking questions, taking pictures of the vehicles, and inputting vehicle data into Sonic's automated inventory management system.
  • Work with Sales Managers to build and propose an offer to seller.
  • Introduces guest to sales department personnel to sell them a new vehicle after purchase of their existing vehicle.
  • Review monthly goals with management on vehicles purchased to better utilize time and plans more effectively.
