About The Position

The Perseus Group is seeking a results-driven US Tax Manager to join their Canadian Corporate Head Office. In this role, the manager will oversee U.S. Federal and State income tax compliance, tax accounting, and strategic tax initiatives. The position offers exposure to high-impact projects, including M&A, legal entity restructurings, tax planning, and integration of new acquisitions. Requirements

  • CPA designation (or equivalent)
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 4+ years of U.S. tax experience, including compliance and tax provision experience
  • Strong knowledge of tax software and Microsoft Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Completion or enrollment in the In-Depth Tax Program
  • Experience in the software industry
  • Familiarity with Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE and SAP BPC

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accurate and timely filing of U.S. corporate income tax returns and related workpapers.
  • Prepare and review quarterly tax provisions and deferred tax calculations for financial reporting.
  • Prepare and assist with key management reporting deliverables.
  • Lead US tax due diligence for M&A transactions, including identifying risks, providing structuring recommendations, reviewing valuation models and supporting other M&A execution tasks.
  • Support integration of new acquisitions, including compliance processes and governance standards.
  • Conduct U.S. tax research and support international tax planning, including transfer pricing strategies.
  • Stay current on legislative changes and emerging tax issues impacting the organization.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide training to finance teams across the organization.
  • Coordinate with tax authorities and manage audit responses.
  • Coordinate with external advisors and internal stakeholders.
