About The Position

Atos is seeking a Sales and Use Tax Analyst to support U.S. indirect tax compliance activities. This role focuses on sales and use tax return preparation, audit support, tax reconciliations, and analytical support for the Sales and Use Tax function. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, experience working with large datasets, and exposure to U.S. sales and use tax requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • +2 years of experience in U.S. tax and accounting.
  • Sales and use tax or indirect tax experience preferred.
  • Candidates with general U.S. tax experience will also be considered.
  • Solid accounting knowledge, including journal entries, debits/credits, trial balances, and general ledger accounts.
  • Experience preparing and analyzing large datasets in Excel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, IF formulas).
  • Experience working with tax returns and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file U.S. sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Prepare sales and use tax data for compliance, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Respond to state and local tax notices and assist with audit inquiries.
  • Support sales and use tax audits by compiling data, reviewing workpapers, and providing documentation.
  • Prepare and manage resale and exemption certificates for customers and vendors.
  • Analyze purchases to determine use tax accrual requirements.
  • Prepare tax-related journal entries and assist with general ledger reconciliations.
  • Provide analytical support for tax compliance, reporting, and system-related issues.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve tax reporting and compliance issues.
  • Participate in special projects, including tax research, process improvements, and internal reviews.
