About The Position

Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems that are safe and beneficial for users and society. The Data Center Capacity Delivery team is responsible for acquiring and preparing data center capacity at an unprecedented scale and pace. This involves working with developers, general contractors, and third-party partners to transform leased and partnered sites from deal closure to operational handover as quickly and safely as possible. As a Regional Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of active and upcoming data center projects within a specific region. Your role will involve building and leading a team of Senior Delivery Managers and managing third-party partners on-site. You will establish delivery standards, provide direct support when needed, and serve as the primary executive-level contact for developer partners in the region. You will also be the point of contact for projects handed over by the transaction team. This is a highly cross-functional position requiring daily collaboration with internal teams such as transaction, design engineering, facility operations and commissioning, deployment, and safety, as well as external partners including developers, GCs, and owner's-representative firms.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience delivering data center or other mission-critical construction, with several years as the owner's or GC's senior leader on a project campus.
  • Experience leading a multi-project portfolio and building the team that delivered it.
  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end development process, including entitlements and permitting, design, long-lead equipment, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Proven ability to manage developer, GC, and third-party relationships at the executive level, fostering a sense of shared urgency beyond contractual obligations.
  • Ability to lead through presence, spending most of the time on-site to set the pace and culture of extended teams.
  • Clear communication skills with both technical and non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and owning outcomes in the absence of established processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • A field of study relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Hyperscale data center delivery experience on the owner, developer, or GC side.
  • Experience with the US & Texas market, including its contractors, permitting regimes, and contractual norms.
  • Familiarity with lease, construction, and development contract structures and how to align incentives around speed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the region's data center projects to achieve early-floor-access and floor-access milestones as fast as they can safely be built.
  • Hire, develop, empower, and lead the Senior Delivery Managers on-site, and elevate the skills of developers, contractors, owner's-rep partners, and key trades across the region.
  • Plan resourcing and headcount as the portfolio grows.
  • Own the portfolio execution for the region, ensuring schedule, quality, and safety outcomes on all active projects.
  • Select, scope, contract, and manage owner's-rep and project-management partners, driving ownership and influence both inside and outside contractual structures.
  • Change contracts, incentives, or culture when they impede speed, and replace partners when performance or culture declines.
  • Set and enforce delivery standards across projects, including integrated schedule, quality requirements, change control, reporting, and tools.
  • Identify and clear blockers across developer, GC, and trade layers, stepping in on-site where a project requires direct intervention.
