About The Position

In 2024, Lightsource bp was fully acquired by bp, strengthening our platform for continued growth. We are looking for a US Indirect Tax Manager to lead our US indirect tax compliance and process management. Reporting to the US Tax Director, this role will support multiple business functions, help improve tax processes, and partner with our UK Indirect Tax Manager on building a global indirect tax workstream. This is a great opportunity for an experienced indirect tax professional who enjoys working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, growing renewable energy business.

Requirements

4–6 years of indirect tax experience
Strong experience in indirect tax compliance and process management
Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills
Collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a changing environment

Nice To Haves

Renewable energy in-house experience preferred
SAP and OneSource Tax Engine experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Manage US indirect tax compliance, including sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, and business licenses
Oversee registrations, renewals, exemption certificates, and compliance calendars
Monitor indirect tax law and regulatory changes
Improve processes to increase efficiency and standardization
Support ERP upgrades with SAP and Technology & Operations teams
Lead indirect tax audits, notices, and controversy matters
Review EPC and MSA contracts and advise on indirect tax implications
Administer OneSource Tax Engine, including content updates, configurations, testing, and support
Support M&A due diligence and ad hoc tax projects
