About The Position

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced accounting professionals with strong US GAAP knowledge across financial reporting, audit, controllership, technical accounting, FP&A, or tax. This role supports an AI evaluation project focused on realistic accounting workflows. Selected professionals will review AI-generated accounting work, determine whether conclusions are technically correct and properly supported, verify that required accounting actions were actually completed, and identify unsupported figures, incomplete work, or misapplied standards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional accounting experience in external audit, controllership, technical accounting, FP&A, tax, or a related discipline
  • Current or recent hands-on experience applying US GAAP
  • Strong professional judgement across financial reporting, accounting estimates, close processes, and technical accounting
  • Ability to identify unsupported numbers, incomplete deliverables, and misapplied accounting standards
  • Strong ability to read financial statements, supporting schedules, reconciliations, and accounting workpapers
  • Comfortable working with professional accounting software and financial systems
  • Strong written English and ability to explain accounting conclusions clearly and precisely

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, actively pursuing CPA qualification, Big Four / accounting-firm experience, industry accounting experience, or equivalent professional background

  • Determine whether financial reporting tasks have been completed accurately and consistently
  • Apply professional judgement when assessing accounting errors and misstatements
  • Evaluate materiality and determine whether identified issues require adjustment or escalation
  • Review adjusting journal entries and related accounting effects
  • Assess interconnected impacts such as deferred-tax consequences

  • Evaluate workpapers and accounting memoranda for completeness and professional quality
  • Review cross-referencing, sign-off, and documentation standards
  • Verify that figures, conclusions, citations, and procedures are supported by actual evidence
  • Identify unsupported assertions, fabricated support, or procedures claimed but not performed
  • Determine whether deliverables are sufficiently complete and review-ready
  • Review AI-generated attempts at realistic accounting tasks
  • Determine whether each conclusion is correct, complete, and adequately supported
  • Confirm that required actions were actually completed and recorded rather than merely described
  • Identify invented figures, unsupported assumptions, and overstated work
  • Assess whether the correct accounting method was applied to the relevant problem
  • Apply a verify-before-finalise standard when reviewing outputs
  • Provide clear and specific agree/disagree rationales for each reviewed attempt
  • Explain technical errors and incomplete reasoning precisely
  • Distinguish minor presentation issues from material accounting deficiencies
