About The Position

BYU-Pathway Worldwide improves the lives of students by providing access to spiritually based affordable online higher education. Our mission is to develop disciples of Jesus Christ who are leaders in their homes, the Church, and their communities. Serving more than 88,000 students annually across 180+ countries, BYU-Pathway offers certificates and degrees in partnership with BYU-Idaho and Ensign College. The Area Manager is a highly trusted leader who represents BYU-Pathway Worldwide in an assigned geographic area within the United States and Canada. Acting with spiritual maturity, strategic clarity, and operational excellence, this leader works to embed BYU-Pathway in the Church by aligning with Area Presidencies and Church Area priorities. This role blends: · Spiritual leadership · Senior relationship management · Field operations oversight · Strategic growth execution · Enrollment health accountability The overarching objective of this role is to bless as many lives as possible by sustainably expanding access to BYU-Pathway programs while strengthening long-term program health in the assigned area. To fulfill this responsibility, the Area Manager builds strong relationships with Church leaders and key partners, including Area Presidencies, Temporal Affairs, Welfare and Self-Reliance, Seminary and Institute, and others. Through these partnerships, the Area Manager advances the mission and priorities of the Area and BYU-Pathway Worldwide. The Area Manager leads and supports 200+ BYU-Pathway senior service missionaries who play a key role in promoting BYU-Pathway, finding and supporting students, and overseeing weekly PathwayConnect and EnglishConnect gatherings. This Area Manager position is a hybrid position based out of our offices in Salt Lake City, Utah and will be a part of the U.S. and Canada field operations team. The position is full-time and typically works Monday – Friday between the hours of 8 am - 5 pm (MOUNTAIN). However, you may be required to adjust your work schedule to accommodate travel and working relationships within multiple time zones. Travel is required (25–50%). Area Managers regularly travel within their assigned area to lead and support strategic initiatives. This position is anticipated to cover the U.S. West Area (subject to change). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • Experience in higher education administration, Church employment, or business development is a plus
  • Experience using Power BI or similar tools to analyze and interpret data

Responsibilities

  • Help embed BYU-Pathway in the church by building and maintaining strong relationships with area leadership, including the Area Presidency, Welfare & Self-Reliance, Seminaries & Institutes, Temporal Affairs, local priesthood leaders, and others, as necessary.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with ecclesiastical leaders and key partners
  • Promote BYU-Pathway and align efforts with area priorities
  • Seek and incorporate regular feedback from partners
  • Ensure effective PathwayConnect and EnglishConnect operations by leading and developing 200+ BYU-Pathway Service Missionaries.
  • Organize and support the service missionaries
  • Oversee the training of service missionaries by demonstrating effective training practices, establishing a regular training schedule, and performing learning evaluations
  • Engage priesthood leaders in sharing information about BYU-Pathway
  • Oversee enrollment growth efforts.
  • Determine and implement best practices to help accomplish the mission of BYU-Pathway by reaching enrollment goals to bless as many lives as possible.
  • Work with BYU-Pathway service missionaries, partners, and leaders to increase awareness of how BYU-Pathway can bless lives.
  • Identify and implement additional ways to reintroduce BYU-Pathway.
  • Help CES work as a system by collaborating with other CES institutions as well as internal BYU-Pathway departments to ensure unity.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders across the Church Educational System (S&I, BYU-Idaho, Ensign College, BYU-Hawaii, and BYU)
  • Build strong relationships with internal BYU-Pathway departments (e.g., Student Support, Communications, Curriculum, etc.)
  • Engage appropriate leaders in problem-solving and strategic planning
