About The Position

This role focuses on providing direct patient care within a urology service, managing a defined share of clinic, procedures, and consults. The goal is to ensure surgeons can focus on the OR while patients receive timely diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care. The position aims to improve patient access, reduce missed complications, and ensure patients understand their care plans.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited PA program with current NCCPA certification.
  • Active state PA license and DEA registration, or ability to obtain both before start.
  • Urology, surgical, or inpatient experience managing retention, stones, infection, hematuria, and post-op care.
  • Competence with catheter placement, drain and wound care, and assisting in cystoscopy or biopsy.
  • Independent clinic judgment and documentation that stands up to coding and peer review.

Responsibilities

  • Run a full clinic panel and close each visit with a documented diagnosis, treatment plan, and follow-up interval.
  • Perform and assist office procedures such as catheter management, cystoscopy support, biopsy assistance, and urodynamics within privileges and protocol.
  • Evaluate new consults and post-operative patients to identify complications early and keep length of stay on target.
  • Complete imaging, labs, and referrals before the surgeon’s next decision point.
  • Educate patients on medications, devices, and surgical options, ensuring they understand risks, alternatives, and next steps.
  • Finish same-day notes that support coding, quality measures, and clean handoffs.
  • Cover scheduled call or inpatient duties without gaps in continuity.
