About The Position
Seeking a Urologist for a Locum Tenens position in Las Cruces, NM. This role involves both inpatient and outpatient services, with a need for supplemental coverage. The position requires a physician to provide clinical services and be on call. The patient demographic is primarily adult, with very few pediatric patients. The physician will be supported by an APP, nursing staff, and a Urology Tech, and will be required to supervise APPs. Specialty backup is available from hospitalists and local urologists via phone. The facility is a Level IV Trauma Center utilizing Athena and Meditech EMR systems. Hospital privileges are required.
Requirements
- Active NM License or willingness to obtain.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Participate in call, including nights and weekends, with a 20-minute response time for beeper calls.
- Conduct 1/2 day clinic and OR sessions.
- Perform rounding.
- Supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
- Handle 5-10 phone consults.
- Obtain hospital privileges.
