About The Position

MDPerm is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Urologist to provide comprehensive urological care at the Fargo VA Medical Center. This position offers a structured weekday schedule with a strong surgical and outpatient practice supporting Veteran patient care. The Urologist will provide outpatient clinic care, consultations, inpatient rounding, and surgical procedures within a collaborative VA healthcare environment. This role focuses on delivering high-quality urological care to Veterans while maintaining compliance with VA standards and clinical protocols.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted physician license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Urology (ABU)
  • Completion of an approved Urology residency program with at least 3 years devoted to urological surgery
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Current DEA registration
  • Current NPI number
  • Malpractice insurance coverage is required
  • Must maintain all continuing education and credentialing requirements

Nice To Haves

  • North Dakota license preferred
  • Robotics certification is preferred
  • Comfortable performing major lymphatic and abdominal procedures
  • Comfortable performing prostate, urethral, ureter, bladder, kidney, penis, scrotum, and testes procedures
  • Comfortable performing endoscopic procedures
  • Comfortable performing fluoroscopy
  • Comfortable performing Holmium laser procedures
  • Comfortable performing ESWL (Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients in the urology outpatient clinic
  • Perform inpatient rounding for urology patients
  • Conduct consultations and coordinate specialty referrals as needed
  • Perform procedures including: Cystoscopies, Vasectomies, Scrotal surgeries, Ureteroscopies, Transurethral procedures for prostate disease and bladder cancer
  • Provide general urological care and management
  • Perform specialty examinations related to urological conditions, including Compensation & Pension (C&P) evaluations when applicable
  • Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions for surgical and clinical patients
  • Follow all VA medication policies and procedures
