Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Urogynecology BJC Saint Luke’s Health System has been providing exceptional care to the Kansas City community for decades, delivering comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare across a wide range of specialties. Our dedicated team is committed to improving the health and well-being of the patients we serve through clinical excellence, compassion, and innovation. We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Urogynecology team. This position provides specialized care for women with pelvic floor disorders, including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, voiding dysfunction, recurrent urinary tract infections, and other urogynecologic conditions. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 4x10 hours shifts with one day off during the week. No weekend and no Holiday obligations. Position Summary This position is accountable for advanced clinical practice in the care of patients with urogynecologic conditions. Responsibilities include obtaining and analyzing patient histories, performing comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, coordinating care, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The APP will: Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with pelvic floor and lower urinary tract disorders. Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations. Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices. Coordinate care across specialties and healthcare settings. Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic testing results. Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state and federal regulations and organizational policies. Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, and preventative care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support best practices in patient care. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate. Serve as a clinical resource and educator for patients, families, and healthcare team members. Participate in some call rotation, providing telephone consultation, triage, patient guidance, and coordination of care for urgent urogynecologic concerns within the APP scope of practice. Provide inpatient rounding services, collaborating with physicians to ensure continuity of care for hospitalized patients. This role offers the opportunity to provide highly specialized, patient-centered care while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving women’s pelvic health and quality of life.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure and certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority as applicable.
  • 3-5 years Applicable Experience
  • Advanced Practice Provider - Various
  • Master's Degree - Nurse Practitioner

Nice To Haves

  • Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) or Physician Assistant certification.
  • Prior experience in Women’s Health, Urogynecology, Urology, Gynecology, or related specialty.
  • Experience caring for patients with pelvic floor disorders, urinary incontinence, or prolapse.
  • Procedural experience and/or willingness to develop specialty-specific skills.
