About The Position

Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, part of Jefferson Health, is seeking a board-certified academic Urogynecologist Physician to join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, patient-centered urogynecologic care, including the evaluation and management of pelvic floor disorders such as urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, voiding dysfunction, overactive bladder, and mesh complications. Duties include performing routine and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures like urodynamics and cystoscopy, as well as providing expert operative management in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery. As a faculty member, the physician will educate and mentor medical students and residents, participate in curriculum development, and engage in research, scholarship, and innovation, including clinical trials, outcomes research, and quality improvement initiatives. Scholarly output such as publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences is encouraged.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Successful completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program.
  • Fellowship training in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS).
  • Board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and URPS.
  • Eligible for, or currently holding, an unrestricted medical license in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
  • Demonstrated passion for academic medicine, encompassing excellence in teaching, mentorship, scholarly activity, and collaborative clinical care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, patient-centered urogynecologic care.
  • Evaluate and manage a wide spectrum of pelvic floor disorders, including urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, voiding dysfunction, overactive bladder, and mesh complications.
  • Perform routine and advanced in-office diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including urodynamics and cystoscopy.
  • Provide expert operative management across the full scope of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across specialties to provide integrated care plans.
  • Educate and mentor medical students and residents within the OB/GYN residency program.
  • Provide hands-on clinical instruction in ambulatory care settings, surgical suites, and during inpatient consultations.
  • Participate in curriculum development, including didactic teaching, leading case conferences, and designing simulation or skills education modules.
  • Engage in clinical research, including clinical trials, outcomes research, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to scholarly output through writing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences.
  • Pursue other forms of scholarly work.
  • Engage in program development, healthcare innovation in pelvic floor care, and collaborative interdisciplinary research.
