About The Position

Greet patients and determine nature of the visit; prepare and assist patients for examination, treatment, or procedure by provider. Maintain patient's safe passage in and out of the practice. Greet, assess and interview patients. Obtain past medical and surgical history, family history, social history, vital signs. Review present medications, allergy history, chief complaint. Prepare and assist patients for examination, treatment, or procedure by provider. Anticipate needs of patients, and the provider. Monitoring of patient during examination, or procedure. Maintain patient care areas. Stocking and ordering of supplies as needed, and maintaining clean exam rooms. Charge and code supplies, medications, and procedures. Respond to patient's concerns in person or by telephone while simultaneously documenting the problem. Maintains patient confidentiality. Administers medications and IVs per physician’s orders. Perform a variety of preliminary procedures, including phlebotomy, injections, throat cultures and more. Participates in continued learning and possesses a willingness and ability to learn and utilize new technology and procedures that continue to develop in their role and throughout the organization. Embraces technological advances that allow us to communicate information effectively and efficiently based on role. Covering all SSHUC offices-Weekend and Holiday require.

Requirements

  • ACLS (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) (Including courses offered through SSH)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) (Including courses offered through SSH)
  • Emergency Medical Services EMT Paramedic - Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) - Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS)
  • INSTRUCTOR- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) (Including courses offered through SSH)
  • INSTRUCTOR- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) (Including courses offered through SSH)
