Urgent Care Relief Veterinarian
About The Position
UrgentVet is seeking relief veterinarians to cover shifts at its urgent care hospitals. Weekday shifts run from 3–11 p.m., and weekend shifts run from 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Hospitals are open seven days a week, 365 days a year. No surgery or dentistry is required. Clinics use cloud-based electronic medical records and an online queue system. UrgentVet bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency or overnight care, providing after-hours care for canine and feline patients without the additional expense of emergency clinic fees. Its single-doctor model handles common urgent cases such as wound management, ear infections, vomiting or diarrhea, and euthanasia. Paperless clinics are designed to deliver efficient care and are equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and IDEXX in-house lab equipment.
Requirements
- DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college, or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program.
- Active license in good standing to practice in the state where the candidate will work.
Responsibilities
- Conduct oneself as a leader and earn trust and respect in the clinic.
- Promote the human-animal bond through an exceptional client experience.
- Manage multiple patients and varying priorities within allotted timeframes.
- Provide care for common urgent cases involving canine and feline patients.
