About The Position

Progressive Community Health Centers is an independent non-profit organization founded in 1999, operating four clinic locations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. With over 100 employees, our agency is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of the community by providing culturally competent services that address identified needs. We deliver high-quality, comprehensive care to approximately 16,000 patients annually, with a majority being low-income. Our clinics do not turn anyone away based on insurance status or ability to pay. We embrace a patient-centered philosophy and offer a diverse range of services including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Women's Health, Urgent Care, Dental, and Integrated Behavioral Health. Additionally, we provide supportive services such as case management, health education, and benefits enrollment.

Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
• Currently licensed in the state of Wisconsin
• At least one year of clinical experience
• Must have the patience and tact to deal with the patient population and the ability to work effectively in the urgent care environment.
• A minimum commitment of 1 weekend/month is required.
• All hired candidates must submit proof of vaccination prior to their orientation.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in an urgent care or emergency department is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent health care for individuals under the supervision of a licensed physician.
• Elicit detailed patient histories and conduct complete physician examinations.
• Reach diagnosis independently and in consultation with a collaborating Physician, as well as other staff physicians when appropriate.
