The GoHealth Urgent Care Fellowship is a national program accredited by the Urgent Care Association of America. It has been vetted and approved by the UCA and the College of Urgent Care Medicine for its comprehensive approach to training advanced care practitioners with minimal experience in urgent care, preparing them to function independently. The program aims to provide intensive, high-yield training through didactic material review, case study review, hands-on skills training, and in-center training alongside experienced providers. The fellowship runs annually for 6 months, from May to October/November, requiring full-time commitment with hours split between in-center work and didactic study. A mandatory weekly lecture day and self-learning are part of the curriculum. Research or publishing is required for graduation, along with mandatory attendance at fellowship-related and Go Health meetings, including didactics, skills labs, and monthly Town Halls. Clinical shifts are conducted alongside senior preceptors for hands-on learning and procedural training. The fellowship is structured in phases, each with an evaluation; failure to pass may result in dismissal. Fellows are evaluated by program directors, preceptors, and faculty, with potential disciplinary action for not meeting expectations. Fellows may be required to float to different centers, potentially requiring travel. They must complete assigned self-study materials, accurately maintain a procedure log, and exhibit competency in required procedures. Performance will also be reviewed based on Go Health’s quality metrics and policies, including Net Promoter Score (NPS), attendance, and antibiotic stewardship. Fellows receive full-time employee benefits during the program. Upon completion, continued full-time employment may be offered based on regional and market needs.
