About The Position

We are seeking an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for ongoing coverage needs at our solo coverage urgent care clinics located in Martinsburg, New Oxford, and Hanover. This is a long-term permanent search, and we are looking for experienced providers to fill two openings. The patient visits typically include cold/flu symptoms, rashes, abrasions, sprains, and minor burns. High acuity patients will be referred to the local ER. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with procedures such as suturing, wound care, I&D's, splinting, X-rays, EKGs, drawing blood, and IVs. Experience with pediatric patients and the ability to work independently are essential. The schedule is Monday-Sunday, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, with an average of 20 shifts per month. The patient population includes all ages. The EMR system used is EPIC, and credentialing takes approximately 90 days.

Requirements

  • Active West Virginia licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
  • Minimum 1-year Urgent Care experience or equivalent
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in West Virginia OR Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in West Virginia
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) OR National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients
  • Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions
  • Time management skills to efficiently manage a patient workload
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans

  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
