About The Position
Seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locum tenens position in Urgent Care. This role involves providing comprehensive urgent care to patients of all ages in an outpatient setting. The coverage is clinical only and ongoing, starting as soon as possible. The typical shift schedule is 8 AM to 8 PM, with 3 shifts per week. The average daily patient volume is between 25 and 50.
Requirements
- Board Certified
- Active Virginia License
- Active DEA Certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience in ED/ER, primary care, or urgent care setting
- Clean record
- Local candidate
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive urgent care to patients of all ages
- Perform laceration repair, incision and drainage, and foreign body removal
- Manage minor burns, skin lesions, and orthopedic injuries (splinting, casting, joint reduction)
- Interpret diagnostic tests including X-rays, EKGs, and point-of-care labs
- Provide epistaxis management, cerumen removal, and airway support
