About The Position

This is an ongoing coverage need for an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). The role involves providing full-time coverage for clinics located in Belle Vernon, Dunbar, and Mt Pleasant, which are no more than 30 minutes apart. The position is a long-term permanent search, and the start date is November 2nd. The clinic sees patients from 6 months to adult, with an average of 20 patient visits per day (3-4 patients per hour). High acuity cases are referred to the local ER. The clinic staff includes 1-3 providers per day, with remote physician availability for escalation if a physician is not onsite. The role is offered as an independent contractor (1099) position.

Requirements

  • Active Pennsylvania licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
  • Minimum 2-years Urgent Care or 1-year Emergency Medicine experience
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Pennsylvania OR Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Pennsylvania
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) OR National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
