About The Position

This is a full-time opportunity for an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Socorro, NM. The role involves making all professional medical judgments in the care of patients, managing the physician/patient relationship, and participating in system-wide health management initiatives. The position also contributes to the practice site's financial, clinical, and service quality performance, assists in developing clinical and service standards, and handles patient complaints. Professional growth is encouraged through various educational activities.

Requirements

• For Nurse Practitioner - Masters degree in Nursing, New Mexico Nurse Practitioner license, federal and state DEA license and ANCC certification required.
• For Physician Assistant - Baccalaureate prepared CAHEA Certified Physician Assistant or two (2) years working experience as a Certified Physician Assistant, and licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners required.
• Minimum of one year experience.

Responsibilities

• Makes all professional medical judgments in care of patients seen.
• Manages the physician/patient relationship.
• Participates in systemwide health management initiatives.
• Provides input into the practice site s financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget; capital plan; and personnel issues.
• Assists in the development and implementation of clinical and service standards.
• Receives and resolves patient complaints.
• Participates in the recruitment and replacement of other providers.
• Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, in-services, and workshops.
• Performs other functions as required.
