The Farm Program Coordinator will manage the food production of the farm and meet all production standards and goals set by farm management. The Program Coordinator will also oversee and organize all the daily operations including delegating farm tasks amongst volunteer groups, planning crop implantation, pest management and produce processing standards, as set by Urban Farm management. The Program Coordinator is also responsible for implementing Integrated Pest Management strategies, meeting volunteer retention goals by sustaining and encouraging a positive environment, educating volunteers and community members on sustainable agricultural practices and SVdP (St Vincent De Paul) Urban farm processes, pinpointing areas of improvements and working with farm management to implement the improvements, meeting production goals set by farm team, communicating clearly and effectively between farm staff, internal departments, and contractors, crop planning, including rotations, consistent with sustainable agricultural practices, running the weekly Mercado during Family Evening Meal, and other duties as assigned by Urban Farm management. They will also participate in and serve as a model for SVdP’s Culture of Philanthropy, and ensure SVdP volunteers feel welcomed and appreciated. Volunteer engagement and appreciation, as well as Culture of Philanthropy participation are part of all job descriptions at SVdP, and an especially important part of the organizational culture and values.
