About The Position

The UR Intake Specialist provides staff support to the Utilization Review / Case Management department and CorVel. The position handles precertification-related calls, verifies patient, provider, and facility information, records notes and service requests in CareMC, and communicates professionally with stakeholders. Additional duties may be assigned. This is a remote position.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to meet designated deadlines.
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude, including ability to use Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets.
Strong interpersonal, time-management, and organizational skills.
Ability to remain poised in stressful situations and communicate diplomatically through all methods of communication.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

A.A. degree or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Take calls relating to precertification requests.
Verify that patient, provider, and facility information entered in the system is accurate and up to date.
Enter notes and service requests in the CareMC system.
Communicate with stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
Provide staff support services, including typing reports and correspondence, handling files, and completing forms.
Answer incoming telephone calls.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
