About The Position
The Utilization Review Coordinator performs duties and responsibilities required in managing the concurrent and retrospective internal utilization review of patient care services. Serve as clinical liaison between managed care companies and Friends Hospital. Obtain authorization for appropriate mental health services. Facilitate and coordinate the care of patients to promote quality clinical and cost effective patient outcomes. Conducts daily case supervision and level of care assessments based on medical necessity criteria.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, mental health, or an allied discipline in healthcare.
- Two years direct psychiatric clinical experience.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Licensure as Registered Nurse or Social Worker in the State of Pennsylvania preferred.
- Two years Utilization Review or Managed Care experience preferred.
