A UPS Technician III is responsible for startups, certifications, preventative maintenance, and scheduled maintenance for systems related to Uninterruptable Power Supply systems, including Battery Systems. This role involves performing UPS replacements and new installations, as well as preventative maintenance, trouble diagnosis, and routine and emergency repairs of all types of systems without supervision and with minimal disruption to the customer. The technician will install, trouble diagnose, repair, start-up, and commission all types of UPS systems. They will also lead jobs with multiple crew members, communicate effectively with various stakeholders to complete projects on schedule and within budget, and operate equipment including UPS systems, Battery systems, PDU’s, ATS, and AC/DC rectifiers without supervision. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential for working with co-workers, sales teams, engineering partners, management teams, and clients. The role requires the ability to accurately assess human power requirements, estimate consumables and connectivity parts, and recognize when crew productivity and safety are jeopardized. The technician is expected to exercise leadership, good judgment, and foster team morale and a spirit of cooperation. They must also be able to balance multiple needs and challenges and teach learned skills to others. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
