A UPS Technician III is responsible for startups, certifications, preventative maintenance, and scheduled maintenance for systems related to Uninterruptable Power Supply systems, including Battery Systems. The role requires the ability to perform UPS replacements and new installations, as well as preventative maintenance, trouble diagnosis, routine, and emergency repairs of all types of systems without supervision and with minimal disruption to the customer. The technician will install, trouble diagnose, repair, start-up, and commission all types of UPS systems. This position also involves leading jobs with multiple crew members, communicating and working effectively with general contractors, subcontractors, partners, and clients to complete projects on schedule and within budget. The technician must be able to properly operate various equipment including UPS systems, Battery systems, PDU’s, ATS, and AC/DC rectifiers without supervision. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential for interacting with co-workers, sales teams, engineering partners, management teams, and clients. The role requires the ability to accurately assess human power requirements for maintenance and installation services, estimate consumables and connectivity parts, and recognize when crew productivity and safety are jeopardized. Leadership and good judgment are expected to foster healthy, harmonious, productive, and happy team performance, along with a spirit of cooperation. The technician should be able to balance multiple needs and challenges and teach learned skills to others. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
