Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or twelve (12) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Obtain a valid driver license
  • Ability to judge distance
  • Ability to understand and follow safety instructions
  • Ability to pass company, and Airport training classes
  • Clear Airport SIDA & CBP
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Adhere to safety practices and programs
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must be able to work flexible working hours (including weekends & holidays)
  • Ability to lift up to 70lbs is required

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload UPS flights.
  • Lift cargo weighing up to 70 lbs. when loading and unloading aircraft, carts, and containers.
  • Loading and unloading may require handling over 100 items for a single aircraft.
  • Push and pull loaded and empty carts and containers during loading and unloading operations.
  • Couple and uncouple carts and cargo container dollies.
  • Ascend and descend jetway stairs while carrying cargo.
  • Bend, stoop, and crawl to move and stack/unstack cargo in aircraft and containers.
  • Stand for up to 4 hours in all weather conditions to load or unload cargo and direct traffic.
  • Walk continuously to load and unload cargo from pallets, containers, carts, or conveyor belts.
  • Complete safety checklists for motorized equipment.
  • Drive and operate motorized equipment, such as tugs and belt loaders.
  • Read and interpret aircraft load sheets, checked baggage tags, and cargo labels.
  • Operate a computer to enter and retrieve data for weight and balance purposes.
  • Count baggage and cargo being loaded and unloaded during operations.
  • Connect support equipment to aircraft, such as PC Air and GPU.
  • Use signalling devices to communicate with co-workers or flight crew.
  • Ensure compliance with dnata, TSA, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
