A UPS Technician III is responsible for startups, certifications, preventative maintenance, and scheduled maintenance for systems related to Uninterruptable Power Supply systems, including Battery Systems. The role involves performing UPS replacements and new installations, as well as preventative maintenance, trouble diagnosis, and routine and emergency repairs of all types of systems without supervision and with minimal disruption to the customer. The technician will install, trouble diagnose, repair, start-up, and commission all types of UPS systems. This position requires the ability to lead jobs with multiple crew members of various skill levels and to communicate and work effectively with general contractors, subcontractors, partners, and clients to complete projects on schedule and within budget. The technician will operate all equipment including UPS systems, Battery systems, PDU’s, ATS, and AC/DC rectifiers without supervision. Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary for interacting with co-workers, sales teams, engineering partners, management teams, and clients. The role also involves assessing human power requirements for maintenance and installation services, estimating consumables and connectivity parts, and recognizing when crew productivity and safety are jeopardized. The technician is expected to exercise leadership and good judgment to foster healthy, harmonious, productive, and happy team performance, exhibiting characteristics that promote great team morale and a spirit of cooperation. The ability to balance multiple needs and challenges and to teach learned skills, techniques, strategies, and methods to the next generation is also required. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
