Lawrenceville-Suwanee School of Music is looking for a passionate and skilled Upright Bass Instructor to join our growing team! Requirements
- Proficiency in upright bass; classical, jazz, or orchestral background a plus
- Ability to teach students of all ages, from beginners to advanced players
- Strong knowledge of music theory, technique, and performance fundamentals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
Nice To Haves
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience in music instruction preferred
- Formal music education or equivalent professional experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging one-on-one or group upright bass lessons for students of varying ages and skill levels
- Develop customized lesson plans and curricula tailored to each student's musical goals and abilities
- Track and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and encouragement
- Teach proper technique, music theory, sight-reading, and ear training as applicable
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student development
- Participate in recitals, studio events, and school performances as needed
- Maintain a positive, professional, and motivating classroom atmosphere
