This role involves demonstrating commitment to the school's mission and vision, believing in the potential of all students, and fostering a sense of wonder and inquiry. The teacher will plan and implement instructional programs, contribute to the school's community, and lead Morning Assembly. Professional responsibilities include striving for continuous improvement, conferring with parents and administrators, using English skillfully, communicating clearly, maintaining accurate records, and performing other duties as assigned by the Head of Upper School. The role also includes delivering the Thomas MacLaren curriculum, planning instructional objectives, using diverse teaching strategies, incorporating interventions, following IEP/Section 504 guidelines, demonstrating sound teaching and classroom management skills, and maintaining a safe learning environment. Teacher/student relationships involve enforcing school policies, maintaining discipline, providing timely feedback, encouraging high achievement, and assisting with student orientation. Teacher/parent relationships include providing feedback, initiating communication, encouraging parent visits, and participating in conferences. Teacher/staff relationships involve regular communication, cooperation with colleagues, committee work, and full participation in the community of learners, including faculty seminars.
