About The Position

Mounds Park Academy is a PreK-12 independent school in Saint Paul, MN that serves approximately 575 students from throughout the Twin Cities area. MPA seeks a full-time (1.0 FTE) Upper School Math teacher preferably with experience in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry for the 2026 - 2027 school year. This position includes teaching multiple sections of Upper School math which may include algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Math teachers at MPA are responsible for providing a classroom instructional program that supports the individual needs of all students in accordance with the school’s mission and values.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in one or more Math related subjects
Experience teaching high school age students

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree or equivalent
Five (5) years teaching experience at the upper school level or beyond
Experience teaching Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics

Responsibilities

Teach up to five (5) sections of Upper School Math
Emphasize critical thinking through content, research, and analysis
Make math relevant and meaningful by inspiring students
Create and use diverse lesson plans and syllabi as per MPA Math Curriculum Review
Supervise, encourage, counsel, and evaluate students
Foster and sustain an effective classroom environment that fosters open discussion with the freedom to express varied points of view
Utilize and incorporate available academic technology for instruction
Communicate and meet with students and parents during scheduled conferences and as necessary
Participate in Math Department and staff development activities
Revise and plan new curriculum in conjunction with other members of the Math Department
Show a willingness to contribute to the life of the school outside of the classroom
Perform additional duties as needed (serve on school-wide committees, attend open houses, advise a student club, etc.)
