Upper School Interim Chemistry Teacher
About The Position
Cape Fear Academy is seeking an Upper School Chemistry Teacher for a partial-school-year assignment from September to December 2026, with a possible extension. Cape Fear Academy is a PK3-12 independent school in Wilmington, NC, dedicated to discovering and developing individual potential and preparing students for success in college and life. This role involves teaching all levels of Chemistry, utilizing diverse instructional and assessment strategies, collaborating with staff, and providing student tutoring.
Requirements
- Experience and knowledge in all levels of upper school Chemistry.
- Demonstrated proficiency using technology including online texts, iPads, and computer interface measurements.
- Interest in and ability to contribute to extracurricular activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in subject area required.
- Three or more years of teaching experience at the high school level, preferably in an independent school environment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience teaching AP Chemistry preferred.
- A Master’s degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach 5 sections, including all levels of Chemistry.
- Provide a range of instructional and assessment strategies with technology to meet the needs of all students.
- Collaborate with staff members to create engaging lessons and a positive school culture.
- Provide tutoring to individual and small student groups as required.
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
