Responsibilities

  • Deliver lessons using culturally-responsive pedagogical strategies to support academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Prepare and internalize curriculum, creating engaging unit and lesson plans.
  • Administer, grade, and analyze student assessments to inform instruction.
  • Maintain accurate and organized student records.
  • Utilize the Responsive Classroom approach to foster a positive classroom culture.
  • Foster an environment built on restorative practices, encouraging positive student relationships and harm repair.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across content areas and grade levels.
  • Attend and actively participate in professional development, PLCs, and grade-level meetings.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences and maintain ongoing parent communication.
  • Ensure student safety at all times.
  • Assist with non-instructional supervision of students (arrival/dismissal, hallways, lunch, playground, extracurriculars).
  • Attend field trips.
  • Actively engage in identity work to dismantle white supremacy culture.
