Upholstery Trainee

About The Position

This position involves using a transfer cart to move assembled frames to an upholstery lift. The role requires operating a pneumatically powered scissor lift controlled by a foot pedal. Responsibilities include using a pneumatic staple gun to attach filler material (foam) and fabric/leather to the frame, ensuring a desired fit by pulling and stretching the material. A regulator (ice pick) is used to smooth seams for a crisp finish. For tufted frames, a button needle is used to attach buttons and twine. Excessive fabric is trimmed with a box cutter, and plygrip is attached to frame edges. Trimmers also use a regulator to tuck fabric and a rubber mallet to attach a tack band. Occasional lifting may be required to move frames for repairs, and the transfer cart is used to return frames to the conveyor. The role may also involve other duties or special assignments as instructed.
