About The Position

This individual will be joining our 2nd shift Upholstery Team. The position involves fabricating and installing upholstery, covering panels, and making simple patterns for aircraft interiors using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications. The role requires performing technical upholstery functions within design, customer, FAA, and Gulfstream specifications. Specific installation and trim tasks are to be completed in compliance with work order instructions and specifications. This includes fitting panels and windows, cabin headliners, upper sidewalls, lower side panels, hatch panels, windows, cutting and surging carpets, covering bulkheads, fabricating various metal parts, and covering and installing panels. The role also involves creating carpet patterns per design drawings and completing installation, and using the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off work. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand proficiently the English language.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations.
Must be computer literate.
Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds and work any shift.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

Experience with sewing, pattern making, gluing, and leather work.
Knowledge of and proper usage methods for most hand tools, table saw, compound miter saw, planer, jointer, bandsaw, router, and cordless power tools.
Mechanical background, mechanic (automotive, small engine, powersports, diesel), welding, woodworking, cabinet building, and/or finish carpentry experience.
Strong willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
Experience using commercial sewing machines, sergers and/or various hand tools used in upholstery and carpet trades.

Responsibilities

Perform technical upholstery functions within design, customer, FAA, and Gulfstream specifications.
Complete specific installation and trim tasks in compliance with work order instructions and specifications.
Fit panels and windows, cabin head liners, upper sidewalls, lower side panels, hatch panels, windows.
Cut and surge carpets.
Cover bulkheads.
Fabricate various metal parts.
Cover and install panels.
Create carpet patterns per design drawings and complete installation.
Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
