The Sutter Street Manufacturing division operates upholstery factories producing a substantial volume of upholstered furniture. The company also has a dedicated Transportation Department and global sourcing offices. This specific Upholsterer role involves upholstering fabric, fiber, and all necessary components to furniture according to specifications and Standard Operating Procedures for use on upholstery lines, at a pace that meets productivity requirements. The position is located in Booneville, MS.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of upholstery experience in production of upper-end upholstered furniture manufacturing environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with hands.
  • Experience in reading and understanding production tickets.
  • Ability to interpret simple instructions from a production manual.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Demonstrate the ability to keep accurate records.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Must be able to meet the minimum stated job qualifications.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in an upper-end upholstery manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to speak English and understand Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Practice safe work practices and demonstrate safe work habits, adhering to Personal Protective Equipment standards.
  • Adhere to Williams-Sonoma policies with a positive attitude and a willingness to assist others.
  • Act with professional courtesy and the highest integrity.
  • Obtain pre-assembled frames and attach fabric, fiber, and other specified component parts using upholstery techniques.
  • Upholster all necessary component parts to assembled frames, ensuring they meet Sutter Street Manufacturing's quality standards, using a staple gun, scissors, and a hammer.
  • Upholster pieces of furniture that meet expected quality requirements at a sufficient pace to meet or exceed the stated productivity requirements of a minimum of 6 pieces per hour, with a goal of 8 pieces per hour.
