Upholsterer 2nd Shift
About The Position
Prepare and install upholstery materials, including wood, foam and material. This role involves laying out and cutting materials, operating a cutting machine, and staging materials for jobs per work order. The Upholsterer will use an oven to prepare vinyl prior to stapling, staple vinyl to pads using a staple gun, and assemble pieces following established procedures, attaching backing and punching holes. Finished pads will be batched by work order and placed in the appropriate area. The role also includes boxing pads as needed, making labels using a computer and label maker, and checking work for quality. Operation of a vinyl picker and pallet jack is also part of the essential functions.
Requirements
- Ability to operate staple gun, heat gun, vinyl cutter and hand tools (razor, wire cutter, staple remover)
- Ability to operate computer in order to run label maker
- Ability to effectively communicate in English (read and understand)
- Lift up to 5 lbs frequently, 20 lbs occasionally and 40 lbs rarely
- Walk, stand, bend, twist/turn, reach overhead and grasp tools as necessary
- Operate vinyl picker and pallet jack
