About The Position

The purpose of this position is to sort and distribute incoming merchandise to specified sorters to supplement the stores productivity and increase sales. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of the production process and ensuring efficiency.

Requirements

• Ability to work as a productive member of a team.

• Exposure to dust and debris from donations is ongoing/continual.
• Walking or standing 100% of the time during the work shift.
• Ability to reach above shoulder height.
• Eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to push donation racks weighing up to 400 lbs.
• Ability to move up to 500 lbs. with the aid of a pallet jack or dolly.
• Ability to bend and crouch.
• Repetitive use of hands.
• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for the entire work shift.
• Must read the arc safety policy, sign the document acknowledging the understanding of it and to practice it.

• Must be flexible with scheduling changes due to store needs.
• May require overtime from time to time due to store needs.

Responsibilities

• Unload incoming merchandise by tallying containers, pulling boxes and bags, opening them, and removing items.
• Separate saleable items from trash, discarding only obviously damaged items and sending debatable items to the sorter.
• Process saleable items by pushing them to the appropriate sorter or placing them into a bin.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area for safety and efficiency.
• Ensure full carts are in place and work with the Back Up to replace empty carts, containers, and remove trash.
• Observe the production process and communicate with supervisors, sorters, and the Back Up to ensure a quick product flow.
• Provide a hazard-free environment by picking up loose items, cleaning breakages or spills, helping other employees, and reporting hazards.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested by a supervisor or manager.
