About The Position

The San Mateo Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) will bring crisis services to people in the community delivered by a dedicated team of mental health professionals with law enforcement involvement only where necessary. It is an exciting opportunity to expand much-needed crisis care in San Mateo County; in a way that is safe, accessible, and compassionate. Our goals are to help people to get support they need and reduce unnecessary law enforcement involvement, ER visits, and hospitalizations. The Clinician provides mental health support services to members served and their families at the program. The Clinician also assists in the coordination of all mental health support services provided by the Team. This includes coordinating and collaborating with team members and outside agencies such as, the Conservator’s Office, Public Guardian’s Office, Probation Department, County Behavioral Health Services, and housing and inpatient providers. Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) Clinician provides telephone screening, triage and referral services and assures that every consumer caller receives timely response to their call, accurate assessments, appropriate interventions and professional attention.

Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree in Social Sciences or related field
  • Current registration with CA BBS as an AMFT, APCC, ACSW
  • Two (2) years of experience in providing crisis management and mental health services
  • Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
  • Willingness to use your company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Provides onsite therapeutic interventions support to persons and families in crisis
  • Collaborates with other First Responders as needed to provide onsite crisis support including, but not limited to, transporting members to appropriate levels of care
  • Will act as a leader for the dispatched mobile team, providing clinical guidance and instruction to team members
  • Will complete a concise assessment to paint a clinical picture of the members needs and provide appropriate treatment recommendations
  • Making appropriate referrals for placement, case management and aftercare services, as assigned
  • Developing and maintaining an awareness of community resource
