About The Position

The San Mateo Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) is an innovative program designed to bridge the gap in community crisis services. This program brings crisis services directly to individuals in the community, delivered by a dedicated team of mental health professionals with law enforcement involvement only when necessary. The goal is to provide safe, accessible, and compassionate crisis care, helping individuals get the support they need and reducing unnecessary law enforcement involvement, ER visits, and hospitalizations. The Clinician provides mental health support services to members served and their families, assisting in the coordination of all mental health support services provided by the Team. This includes coordinating and collaborating with team members and outside agencies such as the Conservator’s Office, Public Guardian’s Office, Probation Department, County Behavioral Health Services, and housing and inpatient providers. The Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) Clinician provides telephone screening, triage, and referral services, ensuring timely response, accurate assessments, appropriate interventions, and professional attention for every consumer caller. The program is a 24/7, Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) serving individuals of all ages experiencing mental health crisis, collaborating with and accepting referrals from the Access and Crisis Line (ACL) and law enforcement. MCRT offers crisis triage and management, risk assessment, in-person intervention, and case management, with each team responding from a mobile crisis van to provide services directly in the field. The team is building a multi-cultural, multi-racial, multi-generational, and inclusive team to redefine how community members and their families are supported during mental health crises and/or drug/alcohol use.
