About The Position

This position supports event operations and guest services by ensuring a smooth, organized, and welcoming experience for all patrons. The role requires attendance at training sessions and participation in scheduling meetings. Responsibilities include preparing event spaces; moving stanchions and signage; stocking publications; and performing light custodial duties to maintain a clean environment. The position manages crowds and supports events before, during, and after performances, including ticket scanning, concessions assistance, and using ticketing software to sell, exchange, and process returns both in person and over the phone, as well as preparing ticket orders for mail or will call. Working closely with volunteers and event management, the individual serves as a primary point of contact for guests, providing information, assistance, and support throughout each event, while also assisting with setup and cleanup to ensure efficient operations.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled as a JSU student taking at least three (3) hours per fall or spring semester.
  • If not a first-time student, must have a GPA of 2.00 or higher.
  • Must provide evidence of student enrollment and GPA (unofficial transcript or printout of enrollment/GPA from MyJaxState).
  • Must be punctual and reliable.
  • Must have attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Must work well with deadlines.
  • Must contribute as a member of a team.
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
  • Applicants who cannot attend training or require extended periods of leave will not be considered.
  • For international students: must be in a valid immigration status, enrolled full-time, possess a passport, F-1 or J-1 visa, U.S. Customs Form I-94, official photo identification, and an official Social Security Card imprinted with work authorization.
