About The Position

This position is located at the Cal Poly Solano Campus in Vallejo, California. Under the general supervision of the Director for Student Rights & Responsibilities at the San Luis Obispo campus, the University Judicial Coordinator will receive and investigate reports of alleged misconduct at the Solano Campus as well as assigned cases across the broader university, including the San Luis Obispo campus. The person holding this position will perform judicial investigations on behalf of OSRR and provide analysis and outcomes while maintaining compliance with the California State University system-wide executive order 1098, which governs the judicial process.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field, including or supplemented by upper division or graduate coursework in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution.
  • Three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience.
  • Familiarity with student conduct management systems.
  • Working knowledge of techniques for dealing with and solving problems presented by a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Ability to utilize advanced skills, principles, and practices of community engagement.
  • Ability to advise students individually and in groups on complex and sensitive student-related matters.
  • Ability to adapt to complex, high-pressure situations and manage fluctuating caseloads effectively, including during peak case management seasons.
  • Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check).
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
  • A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal counseling.
