About The Position

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a motivated University Admissions Counselor to oversee the Phoenix, AZ territory in a unique remote (work from home in Phoenix, AZ) opportunity. This role involves helping Grand Canyon University’s Trade and Workforce Development students succeed. The position offers a starting salary of $58,656 per year with a tenure-based compensation plan that allows for increased earning potential upon the completion of each year-long recruitment cycle. The ideal candidate finds fulfillment in serving others, is passionate about education, and has demonstrated success as a team player who is adaptable and intentional. The role focuses on making a positive impact by assisting high school students and re-careering adults in making the decision to pursue careers in Phoenix’s growing trade industries through Grand Canyon University’s workforce development paths. Counselors will be involved in the community, host events, provide exceptional counseling to prospective students and their families through various mediums, and promote Grand Canyon University student success and institutional growth. The role requires working independently, utilizing critical thinking skills to support prospective students and families through the admissions process, and guiding them toward a successful campus experience.

Requirements

• Must live in or near Phoenix, AZ
• A bachelor’s degree
• No delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in your credit report. If in a rehabilitation program, your credit report must reflect that you are current, not delinquent, on your payments.

• A valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Willingness to travel extensively in your territory

• Some events require evening and/or weekend availability

Responsibilities

• Be involved in the community through hosting and implementing event/activity plans for your territory that build awareness of academic programs and campus community and drive inquiry generation.
• Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students and their families through a variety of mediums (in-person, phone, email, text, Zoom).
• Champion the GCE mission, promoting Grand Canyon University student success and institutional growth.
• Connect with high school counselors and students, corporate workforce decision makers, and other major stakeholders in your territory.
• Maintain a full schedule that includes fairs, school visits, presentations, community/campus events, and hosting campus visits.
• Support prospective Grand Canyon University campus students and families through the admissions process.
• Develop and nurture relationships with community colleges and their staff.
