About The Position

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a motivated University Admissions Counselor to oversee the Minneapolis, MN territory. This is a unique work-from-home opportunity based in Minneapolis, MN. The role involves supporting community college students in their decision to pursue a quality education and community at Grand Canyon University’s campus in Phoenix, AZ. The counselor will play an integral role in helping students from application through their first few weeks on campus. GCE is a growing educational service company that provides support services to the post-secondary education sector and works closely with Grand Canyon University (GCU).

Requirements

  • Must live in or near Minneapolis, MN.
  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • No delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in your credit report. If in a rehabilitation program, your credit report must reflect that you are current, not delinquent, on your payments.
  • Outstanding time management and organization skills.
  • Clear communication and engaging presentation skills.
  • Self-motivation and drive to succeed.
  • High emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, a flexible schedule, and willingness to travel.
  • Clean driving record and ability to use personal vehicle.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Host and implement event/activity plans for the territory to build awareness of academic programs and campus community, and drive inquiry generation.
  • Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students and their families through various mediums (in-person, phone, email, text, Zoom).
  • Champion the GCE mission, promoting Grand Canyon University student success and institutional growth.
  • Connect with community college students, faculty, and staff in the assigned territory.
  • Engage all major stakeholders in the territory, maintaining a full schedule that includes fairs, school visits, presentations, community/campus events, and hosting campus visits.
  • Support prospective Grand Canyon University campus students and families through the admissions process.
  • Guide students towards a successful campus experience.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with community colleges and their staff.
