About The Position

As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you will work on real projects, contribute to a collaborative culture, and receive support for growth over two full semesters. Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027)
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States
  • Must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
  • Must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Previous public relations experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with Muck Rack, Cision, and Google Alerts a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to write clean copy quickly and efficiently
  • Experience creating content for various social media platforms
  • Ability to multitask, highly organized, and strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Support communications efforts by maintaining and updating press lists
  • Prepare for press junkets
  • Monitor press breaks and compile clip packets
  • Research media outlets & contacts
  • Compile coverage reports
  • Draft tune-ins
  • Assist with press releases and various writing assignments/research projects
  • Help track big stories surrounding series
  • Research journalists, publications and trends
  • Garner experience in PR-centric writing
  • Attend team and series meetings
  • Research and share knowledge of current events and trends in the pop culture zeitgeist as they relate to organizational objectives for the team
  • Assist Live Events team with show lead-up materials, day of event needs, and post-show recaps, including collecting content links, competitive outlet research, screen recordings, etc.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and projects as needed
  • Support the brand team throughout strategy and marketing campaign processes for NBC Entertainment programming
  • Partake in weekly trainings
  • Assist in daily tasks to understand brand’s role throughout a show’s lifecycle
  • Identify moments from series in advance of airing to be clipped for social use
  • Monitor social sentiment on behalf of the networks
  • Write and edit compelling social media copy
  • Schedule content to be dispersed through Bravo social media
  • Ideate and produce social media content for studio and brand handles
  • Support the awards team through research, asset management, and administrative duties
  • Update and track department documents for overall campaign timelines
  • Read scripts and summarize for brand guidelines
  • Brainstorm and present ideas (e.g., campaign opportunities, social media initiatives, marketing creative, etc.)
  • Support the USG Publicity team across series publicity and talent relations
  • Brainstorm and present ideas for talent relations/gifting, editorial and press opportunities, speaking engagements, etc.
  • Assist publicists during in-person press opportunities (shoots, junkets, interviews, etc.)
  • Compile comprehensive coverage reports for senior executives and flag breaking news
  • Research media outlets/contacts and maintain the team’s master contact data base
  • Audit critical team documents and review releases/external announcements
  • Join creative brainstorming sessions
  • Support events at venues like Commons, 1220, sound stages, and the backlot
  • Assist with marketing, event, and production tasks
  • Industry research
  • Website updates
  • Digital asset organization
  • Photo/video shoot support
  • On-site event coordination
  • Production support such as client data and inventory management
