As an NBCUniversal Academic Year intern, you will engage in real projects, contribute to a collaborative culture, and receive support for growth over two full semesters. The Internship Program emphasizes impact, offering the chance to contribute to meaningful work while developing valuable skills. Universal Television Entertainment is responsible for world-class television entertainment, programming and marketing content across Bravo, NBC, and Peacock, and producing over 3,000 hours of television annually through Universal Studio Group.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027)
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
  • Complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to write clean copy quickly and efficiently
  • Experience creating content for various social media platforms
  • Ability to multitask, highly organized, and strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Previous public relations experience
  • Familiarity with Muck Rack, Cision, and Google Alerts

Responsibilities

  • Support communications efforts by maintaining and updating press lists, preparing for press junkets, monitoring press breaks and compiling clip packets, researching media outlets & contacts, and compiling coverage reports, draft tune-ins, assist with press releases and various writing assignments/research projects (Entertainment Communications- Unscripted)
  • Help track big stories surrounding series, research journalists, publications and trends, garner experience in PR-centric writing, attend team and series meetings (Entertainment Communications- Scripted)
  • Research and share knowledge of current events and trends in the pop culture zeitgeist as they relate to organizational objectives for the team, assist Live Events team with show lead-up materials, day of event needs, and post-show recaps, including collecting content links, competitive outlet research, screen recordings, etc, assist with administrative tasks and projects as needed (Live Events & Specials)
  • Support the brand team throughout marketing processes, partake in weekly trainings, attend meetings, and assist in daily tasks to understand brand’s role throughout a show’s lifecycle (NBC & Peacock Marketing)
  • Identify moments from series in advance of airing to be clipped for social use, monitor social sentiment on behalf of the networks, write and edit compelling social media copy and schedule content to be dispersed through Bravo social media (Social Marketing- Bravo)
  • Ideate and produce social media content for studio and brand handles, support the awards team through research, asset management, and administrative duties, update and track department documents for overall campaign timelines, read scripts and summarize for brand guidelines, brainstorm and present ideas (e.g., campaign opportunities, social media initiatives, marketing creative, etc.) (USG Marketing)
  • Brainstorm and present ideas for talent relations/gifting, editorial and press opportunities, speaking engagements, assist publicists during in-person press opportunities (shoots, junkets, interviews, etc.), compile comprehensive coverage reports for senior executives and flag breaking news, research media outlets/contacts and maintain the team’s master contact data base, audit critical team documents and review releases/external announcements (USG Publicity)
  • Join creative brainstorming sessions, support events at venues like Commons, 1220, sound stages, and the backlot, assist with marketing, event, and production tasks, industry research, website updates, digital asset organization, photo/video shoot support, on-site event coordination, and production support such as client data and inventory management (West Coast Studio Operations, SO Marketing)
